CAMEROON MILITARY: STOP DYING, RISE UP AND HOLD YOUR COMMANDER ACCOUNTABLE!

by Mbiydzenyuy David WANTANGWA

We have decided to take both the risk and the courage to publish another list of military and Gendarmes killed in the useless and senseless war against Ambazonia declared by the President of La Republique du Cameroun, Paul Biya. This list which had been circulated for their burial leaves us to imagine how many more will not be buried ceremoniously. It is with much grief that we have decided to make public this document to let the Cameroonians, and the whole world know, the that the atrocious decisions of the Cameroon government, and particularly of President Paul Biya, who has made himself the only person to single-handedly and highhandedly take decisions in Cameroon, are a very serious cause for concern and should be checked immediately. We expect that if the military authorities of Cameroon have any real education, they are supposed to know that the military should not be used in this 21st century, in this age as a defensive and manipulative tool to protect the egos of Dictators and power mongers who should have engaged in meaningful dialogue and solve the problems of the people through peaceful means. We should know, that this is no more the time for archaic dictatorial regimes to impose themselves upon the people over whom they have lost legitimacy. We therefore, challenge the Cameroon military experts, if any at all, to rise up from their slumber and put a definitive end to this madness. We challenge the Cameroon military to desist from dying like dogs in trying to fight a people when they know they cannot win. We challenge the military to come to a realization that it is not honour dying for a useless cause. No body gets honour by fighting against the legitimate claims of a people. No one gets honour by being a repressive tool in the hands of an insane dictator. Therefore, we challenge the Cameroon military, that presently, their fidelity is misguided and they should wake up to reality. We challenge the military to realize that they are acting according rather according to the whims and caprices of a dying dictator who has no interest in the future generations of the Cameroons. We challenge the military to realize this wanton abuse of power if they are not accomplices to it and should immediate take action to quell the calamity that is going to befall both the people and the nations of the Cameroons. We challenge the military to look at the recent examples in Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe and elsewhere, where the military have dared to distance themselves from the inordinate manipulations of politicians and free themselves and the nations of the Cameroons from continuous slavery, repression and marginalization.

It is evidently clear, that President Paul Biya has overstepped his bounds and is misusing his authority by ordering the army to exercise extreme madness and impunity on a portion of the people from whom he hopes to get electoral votes in the 2018 elections. It is evidently clear to any blind eye, that together with his bunch of accomplices, some of whom are military themselves, that this is unlimited abuse of power, and they must not go free.

And now, we must hold our leaders accountable for the misguided decisions they take which are putting the future of the nation into jeopardy.

Below, is a list of  about 67 corpses of military and Gendarmes, from La Republique Du Cameroun who are being prepared for burial.  And You remember that when they bring out this number, a great many too would be prepared for burial without official ceremonies.

The Government of Cameroon is to be held accountable for the deaths of these military and Gendarmes in the useless and senseless war it declared on the citizens of Ambazonia. In an attempt to protect themselves, the President, the Ministers, Governors, SDOs and DOs and others endorsed this insanity, and the military should stand up and ask themselves, what is happening and is this a war worth fighting. Is this a crisis worth wasting lives for? The Cameroon military should cease being sheepish to quickly, unquestionably and unreasonably engage in this height of insanity. This is the moment when they should hold the president of the Republic and their commander accountable for his stupid decision which is resulting in the daily deaths both of the military and the civilians, which in complicity with his band of advisers and the specific Governors and other government officials have been putting the military in danger because of their intransigence to discuss with a hurting part of the country. No war has ever been fought and won against a people. The military should have seriously desisted from this senselessness. The military should be able to steer clear of participating in crimes against humanity, in genocide and in inhumanity and perform their honorable role of protection as demanded by the Constitution and International Law.

How many military were buried last time in a public ceremony? How many have been buried quietly? Do we take delight in attending burial ceremonies of our youthful military who have lost their future in one of the most stupid wars that they cannot win? Are we therefore going to allow ourselves to be deceived by their meaningless strategies, deception and useless actions?

THIS IS THE IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED:

It therefore becomes clear, and we need to appeal to all parents, communities, chiefs and families to seriously recall their children from this senseless and useless war. This is the second round of public burials of hundreds of military to which the Military spokesman attests, that this useless and senseless war has claimed more lives than the fight against Boko Haram. How long shall the Cameroon government and precisely, the manipulative decisions of Paul Biya continue to render uncountable families childless and without the youthful population we need for the future? Where are we going to? What is difficult for President Paul Biya to call for meaningful negotiations? He cannot protect himself to the detriment of the soldiers, he cannot use soldiers as human shield to protect himself, this is unaccepted in international law, he cannot put the lives of the military in danger for his selfish aims and power drunkenness.

Anyone supporting this stupid war does not love Cameroon and has no good for the country. Anyone supporting this war is only doing so out of greed and selfishness. Cameroon, and Ambazonia and seriously dripping with blood, blood is flowing everywhere, the blood of the military who are not told the truth on the ground, the blood of the innocent civilians who fall victim to the impunity of the military.

We call on all families, that have lost their children to this senselessness, either secretly or publicly to rise up and hold the government of Cameroon responsible for this chaos and sorrow they have caused them and condemn it with one voice. Do not weep and still hope in a hopeless government, which cannot protect the military.

The Cameroon Army, use your heads and stop this senselessness. How many military men and women do you expect to die before you come to your senses. At this present moment, the life of Paul Biya is not more important than the life of the least Cameroonian and we should wake up from our dreams and face the truth. We should not support the wrong doings of our leaders to the detriment of the country we want to call home.

The intransigence of the government and its band of accomplices, is fueling the extremism in the country. Their irresponsible handling of this situation must not go unchecked.

If Cameroonians and specifically, the Military, if they do not rise up like one man to denounce the atrocities being perpetrated by the President and his Administrators, then the eclipse of the future of this country is at hand.

FINAL WORD OF CAUTION TO THE MILITARY AND ADMINISTRATORS
Presently, numerous legal pursuits are being compiled against individual Governors, military caught in crimes, or responsible for the present genocide. But remember, that in the event of these legal pursuits, the Government of Cameroon will abandon you to face your fate alone. No excuse, of being asked to commit acts of torture, of rape, looting and arson, of genocide and crimes against humanity can or will save you. You will face your fate individually. The Government of Cameroon cannot protect you against any legal pursuits which are presently being compiled against you. Do not leave yourselves to be continuously manipulated by uncouth politicians for the selfish gains.
