UN Special Counsel for the prevention of genocide rebukes LRC, calls for an immediate and an independent investigation by Eric Acha

1st October 2018: UN Special Counsel for the prevention of genocide rebukes LRC, calls for an immediate and an independent investigation into the genocide going on the Southern Cameroons☆☆
It couldn't have been on a better day. For the first time in the history of this struggle has a top ranking UN official described the ongoing massacre across the Southern Cameroons in such strong terms.
Adama Dieng who is the UN special counsel for the prevention of genocide has smelled what he believes is an active genocide going on in the Southern Cameroons and has therefore in his capacity called for an immediate and an independent investigation into all the killings.
For my UN skeptic brothers and sisters, I know how disappointed we are with this corrupt body, but this isn't time to put on the shinning skeptic hat. Rather we should welcome, rally and build a momentum out of this outing by Mr. Dieng, so as to give him the support and courage needed to stick to his grounds. His conscience has led him to burst out, saying it as it is, in defiance of the conspiracy of his bosses.
He needs our support and must be encouraged. It is the first time a top UN official is also putting the death toll from the massacre being committed to over 400, as opposed to the 160 being published by some organizations.
His call for an immediate and an independent investigation is the right thing to do and it is just what we have been asking for.
Choosing October 1st to make the announcement is a slap in the face of the Yaoundé regime, that tries as much as possible to always make the day go by unnoticed.
It's not by chance that Mr. Adama Dieng made the statement during this period. The timing in its self is very symbolic and carries a lot of weight.
